Meet Dr Brian Lee
Dr Brian Lee is a dual qualified Specialist Pain Physician and Anaesthetist in Perth, Western Australia.
Dr Lee is a proud Kiwi, having grown up in picturesque New Zealand. He attended medical school at Monash University, Melbourne, then moved back to Auckland, New Zealand for his anaesthetic training. During this time, Dr Lee fostered his interest in pain management as he frequently came across the burden of pain on his patients after surgery.
Dr Lee then moved to sunny Perth, Western Australia to pursue this interest in pain medicine, and underwent training as a pain fellow, working in all three major public (Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner and Fiona Stanley) hospitals of Perth. He demonstrated his academic success by attaining the Merit award for the Faculty of Pain Medicine Fellowship Examination in 2018. Having focused his training on interventional pain management, Dr Lee underwent further training in advanced spinal interventional procedures under renowned leaders of the field at the prestigious Metro Pain Group in Melbourne.
Dr Lee has a keen interest in improving pain education, and regularly lectures medical students on pain management at the University of Western Australia, where he is a Clinical Senior Lecturer. He has published journal and magazine articles, presented at regional and national conferences, and authored chapters in a pain medicine textbook.
In 2020, Dr Lee established his private clinic to provide the highest quality medical care to privately insured patients, with convenient consulting locations in medical districts on both sides of the River. As well as his association with the leading private hospitals of Perth where he performs procedures, Dr Lee holds public appointments as a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at Royal Perth Hospital.
Dr Lee treats each patient with compassion and empathy, and extensively utilizes the latest interventional pain therapies as a part of a balanced, multifaceted approach to pain management.
